Senior Lecturer IT

• PhD in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
• Master’s degree in IT or related discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science or related field (minimum Second Class Honours Upper Division or equivalent).

• Relevant IT industry certifications such as:
• Cisco Systems (e.g., CCNA/CCNP)
• Microsoft certifications
• Amazon Web Services certifications
• Industry consultancy or systems development experience.

• Integrity and professionalism
• Academic leadership
• Team player
• Commitment to student success
• Ability to attract research funding

• Minimum five (5) years of university teaching experience, at least three (3) years at the level of Lecturer or equivalent.
• Evidence of:
• Curriculum development
• Supervision of postgraduate students (Master’s level)
• Examination setting and moderation
• Use of e-learning platforms

• At least three (3) to five (5) publications in peer-reviewed journals since appointment as Lecturer.
• Evidence of:
• Ongoing research activity
• Conference presentations
• Research grant participation (added advantage)
• Google Scholar profile or equivalent research visibility is desirable.

• Successfully supervised:
• At least 3–5 Master’s students to completion (depending on university policy).
• Experience supervising PhD students is an added advantage.

• Experience as:
• Programme Coordinator
• Departmental Committee Member
• Examination Coordinator
• Participation in university governance structures.

• Strong knowledge in areas such as:
• Cybersecurity
• Data Science & AI
• Software Engineering
• Networking & Cloud Computing
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills
• Research leadership capability
• Curriculum innovation and academic quality assurance
