The Islamic University of Kenya (IUK) is pleased to officially announce the appointment of Dr. Mohamed Abdinoor Dahir, PhD, as the new Vice Chancellor of the University.
Dr. Dahir was formally received by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Sheikh Dr. Mohamed Osman, alongside the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academics, Dr. Ali Sunkar. Following this reception, he was introduced to the faculty during a brief meeting held at the University, marking the beginning of his tenure.
With over twenty-five years of experience in educational leadership, research, humanitarian programming, and institutional development across East Africa and the Horn of Africa, Dr. Dahir brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the role. His strong background in academic leadership and community engagement closely aligns with the vision and mission of the Islamic University of Kenya, positioning him well to lead the institution into a new era of growth, innovation, and excellence.
As we welcome Dr. Dahir to his new role, we also extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. Ahmed Bilal Waqar, who has successfully completed his service as Vice Chancellor. Dr. Waqar’s leadership played a vital role in strengthening the University’s academic and administrative foundations. His dedication, commitment, and positive impact on the institution will be remembered with deep gratitude. We wish him continued success and blessings in all his future endeavors.
